Removing a Fan Module
- Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see ESD Protection.
- Fan modules are hot-swappable.
- To maintain a proper cooling effect during system operation, remove only one fan at a time.
- If the device is equipped with a front bezel, remove the bezel before removing the fan modules. For details, see (Optional) Front Bezel.
- Determine the position of the fan modules. See Figure 5-32.
- Remove a fan module.
Push the ejector release button that fastens the fan module handle. See (1) in Figure 5-33.
Open the ejector lever on the fan module. See (2) in Figure 5-33.
Hold the ejector lever to pull out the fan module horizontally from the chassis. See (3) in Figure 5-33.
- Place the removed fan module in an ESD bag.
Installing a Fan Module
- Install a fan module.
Insert the fan module horizontally into the chassis until it snaps into position. See (1) in Figure 5-34.
- Close the ejector lever on the fan module. See (2) in Figure 5-34.
Fan modules on the same device must have the same part number.
- If the device is equipped with a front bezel, install the bezel after installing the fan modules. For details, see (Optional) Front Bezel.
- Log in to the iBMC WebUI, and check whether the new component is in normal status. For details, see the Atlas 800 Training Server iBMC (V3.01.00.00 or Later) User Guide (Model 9000).
