Right Mounting Ear Plate
Removing the Right Mounting Ear Plate
- Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see ESD Protection.
- Power off the device. For details, see Powering Off the Server.
- Remove the power cables and all signal cables.
- Remove the device. For details, see Removing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the right mounting ear, hold the right mounting ear, and gently pull it out. See (1) and (2) in Figure 5-111.
- Take out the right mounting ear plate. See (3) in Figure 5-111.
- Remove the signal cable from the right mounting ear plate.
- Place the removed right mounting ear plate in an ESD bag.
Installing the Right Mounting Ear Plate
- Take a spare right mounting ear plate out of its ESD bag.
- Connect the signal cable to the right mounting ear plate.
- Install the right mounting ear plate. See (1) in Figure 5-112.
- Install the right mounting ear and tighten the screws. See (2) and (3) in Figure 5-112.
- Install the device. For details, see Installing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Connect the power cables and all signal cables.
- Power on the device. For details, see Powering On the Server.
- Power on the device and check whether the indicator on the right mounting ear plate indicates no fault. For details about the indicator location and status, see Front Panel Indicators and Buttons.
