Powering Off the Server
- Services and programs running on the device will be interrupted when it is powered off. Before powering off the device, ensure that all services and programs have been stopped or switched to another device.
- Power-off in this section indicates to power off the device to the standby state (the power button/indicator is steady yellow).
- After the device is forcibly powered off, wait for more than 10s to ensure that the device is powered off completely. Then you can power it on again.
Power off the device using one of the following methods:
- Use cables to connect the device to a video display, keyboard, and mouse, and shut down the OS to power off the device.
- Press the power button on the front panel to power off the device. For details about the power button position, see Front Panel Indicators and Buttons.
- When the device is powered on, press the power button to shut down the OS to power off the device.
If the OS is running, shut it down as prompted.
- When the device is powered on, hold down the power button for 6 seconds to force the device to power off.
A forced power-off may cause data loss or program damage. Forcibly power off the device only when necessary.
- When the device is powered on, press the power button to shut down the OS to power off the device.
- Power off the device using the iBMC WebUI.
- Log in to the iBMC WebUI. For details, see Logging In to the iBMC WebUI.
- Choose System > Power > Power Control.
The Power Control page is displayed.
- Click Power Off or Forced Power Off. In the displayed dialog box, click Yes to power off the device.
- Power off the device using the Remote Virtual Console.HTML5 Integrated Remote Console
- Log in to the Remote Virtual Console. For details, see Logging In to the Remote Virtual Console Through the iBMC WebUI.
- On the KVM screen, click
on the toolbar, and choose Power Off or Forced Power Off from the menu.
- Click OK.
The device starts to be powered off.

- On the KVM screen, click
on the toolbar, and choose Power Off or Forced Power Off from the menu.
The Select an Option dialog box is displayed.
- Click OK.
The device starts to be powered off.
- Power off the device using the iBMC CLI.
- Log in to the iBMC CLI. For details, see Logging In to the iBMC CLI.
- On the iBMC CLI, run the ipmcset -d powerstate -v 0 command to power off the device or run the ipmcset -d powerstate -v 2 command to forcibly power off the device.
- Enter y or Y to remotely power off the device.
