DIMMs
Removing a DIMM
- Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see ESD Protection.
- Power off the device. For details, see Powering Off the Server.
- Remove the power cables and all signal cables.
- Remove the device. For details, see Removing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Remove the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Remove the air duct and support beam. For details, see Air Duct and Support Beam.
- Simultaneously press the ejectors outwards. See (1) in Figure 5-44.
- Remove the DIMM from the slot. See (2) in Figure 5-44.
- Place the removed DIMM in the DIMM box.
Installing a DIMM
- Take a spare DIMM out of the DIMM box.
- Open the two fixing clips of the DIMM slot. See Figure 5-45.
- Align the DIMM with the DIMM slot, and insert the DIMM into the slot. See Figure 5-46.
The two retaining clips pop up into place automatically.
Do not touch the edge connector on a DIMM with bare hands. Before inserting a DIMM, ensure that the edge connector is not polluted.
- Install the air duct and support beam. For details, see Air Duct and Support Beam.
- Install the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Install the device. For details, see Installing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Connect the power cables and all signal cables.
- Power on the device. For details, see Powering On the Server.
- Log in to the iBMC WebUI, and check whether the new component is normal. For details, see the Atlas 800 AI Training Server iBMC Alarm Handling (Models 9000).
