NPU Board
Removing an NPU Board
- Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see ESD Protection.
- Power off the device. For details, see Powering Off the Server.
- Remove the power cables and all signal cables.
- Remove the device. For details, see Removing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Remove the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Remove the air duct and support beam. For details, see Air Duct and Support Beam.
- Remove all FlexIO cards. For details, see FlexIO Cards.
- Remove the mainboard. For details, see Mainboard.
- Remove the copper bar module. For details, see Copper Bar Module.
- Remove all cables from the NPU board. For details, see Internal Cabling.
- Loosen the screws that secure the water pipes on the panel using a Phillips screwdriver, and lift the water pipes. See (1) and (2) in Figure 5-105.
- Loosen the screws on the NPU board, push the NPU board towards the fan modules by holding the handle in the red circle, and lift the NPU board. See (3) and (4) in Figure 5-105.
- Place the removed NPU board in an ESD bag.
Installing an NPU Board
- Hold the handle in the red circle, align the NPU board with the mounting screws on both sides of the chassis, and push the NPU board downwards in the arrow direction until it does not move. See (1) in Figure 5-106.
- Tighten the screws on the NPU board using a Phillips screwdriver. See (2) in Figure 5-106.
- Route the water inlet pipe and water outlet pipe into the water pipe ports on the panel. Install the panel and water pipes downwards, and tighten the screws on the panel. See (3) and (4) in Figure 5-106.
The water inlet is blue and the water outlet is red. Protect the water inlet pipe during the installation.
- Connect all cables to the NPU board. For details, see Internal Cabling.
- Install the copper bar module. For details, see Copper Bar Module.
- Install the mainboard. For details, see Mainboard.
- Install all FlexIO cards. For details, see FlexIO Cards.
- Install the air duct and support beam. For details, see Air Duct and Support Beam.
- Install the chassis cover. For details, see Chassis Cover.
- Install the device. For details, see Installing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Connect the power cables and all signal cables.
- Power on the device. For details, see Powering On the Server.
