Left Mounting Ear Plate
Removing the Left Mounting Ear Plate
- Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see ESD Protection.
- Power off the device. For details, see Powering Off the Server.
- Remove the power cables and all signal cables.
- Remove the device. For details, see Removing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws on the left mounting ear, hold the left mounting ear, and gently pull it out. See (1) and (2) in Figure 5-109.
- Remove the signal cable from the left mounting ear plate.
- Open the buckle of the mounting ear plate, and remove the left mounting ear plate. See (3) and (4) in Figure 5-109.
- Place the removed left mounting ear plate in an ESD bag.
Installing the Left Mounting Ear Plate
- Take a spare left mounting ear plate out of its ESD bag.
- Install the left mounting ear plate. See (1) in Figure 5-110.
- Connect the signal cable to the left mounting ear plate.
- Install the left mounting ear and tighten the screws. See (2) and (3) in Figure 5-110.
- Install the device. For details, see Installing the Device and Guide Rails.
- Connect the power cables and all signal cables.
- Power on the device. For details, see Powering On the Server.
- Power on the device and check whether the indicator on the left mounting ear plate indicates no fault. For details about the indicator location and status, see Front Panel Indicators and Buttons.
