Logging In to the iBMC WebUI (iBMC Earlier Than V561)
Scenarios
Log in to the iBMC WebUI using a browser on a local PC. The section uses a PC running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9.0 browser as an example to describe how to log in to iBMC.
Impact on the System
This operation has no adverse impact on the system.
Prerequisites
Conditions
The web browser and Java Runtime Environment (JRE) of the required versions have been installed on the local PC. Table 6-1 shows the system configuration requirements of the local PC.
Ensure that the local PC meets the following networking conditions:
- The local PC is connected to the iBMC management network port on the server through a network cable.
- The IP addresses of the local PC and the iBMC management network port are on the same network segment.

Procedure
- Connect the local PC to the iBMC management network port on the server by using a crossover cable or twisted pair cable.
Figure 6-1 shows the network diagram.
- Open Internet Explorer on the local PC.
- In the address box, enter the IP address of the server iBMC management network port (for example, https://192.168.2.100).
- Press Enter.
The iBMC login page is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-2.
- If the message "There is a problem with this website's security certificate" is displayed, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
- If the Security Alert dialog box indicating a certificate error is displayed, click Yes.
- Enter your user name and password.
The user account will be locked after five consecutive login failures with wrong passwords. If your user account is locked, log in again 5 minutes later.
- Select Local iBMC from the Domain drop-down list.
- Click Log In.
The home page is displayed. The login username is displayed in the upper right corner of the page.
