Running Environment
Table 3-70 lists the operating systems (OSs), web browsers, and Java running environment (JRE) required for using the Remote Virtual Console.
- The Java Integrated Remote Console requires Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to be installed. If JRE is not installed, click here to download it from the official AdoptOpenJDK website. If the Java Integrated Remote Console cannot be used after JRE is installed, click More information.
- If the TLS version is set to TLS 1.3 only on the User and Security > Security Mgmt page, the iBMC runtime environment does not support the following browser versions:
- All Internet Explorer versions
- Safari 9.0 to 12.0
- Microsoft Edge 12 to 18
- Mozilla Firefox 45.0 to 62.0
- Google Chrome 55.0 to 69.0

Opening the Remote Virtual Console
- If the keyboard in use complies with the OS keyboard setting, use the actual keyboard.
- If the keyboard in use does not comply with the OS keyboard setting, use the OS keyboard.
- Import a trust certificate and a root certificate to the iBMC. For details, seeImporting the iBMC Trust and Root Certificates .
- If no trust certificate is available, add the iBMC to the Exception Site List on Java Control Panel. This operation, however, poses security risks.
- On the Home page of the iBMC WebUI, select the Java Integrated Remote Console or HTML5 Integrated Remote Console from the drop-down list.
The shared mode allows two users to simultaneously use the remote console to access and perform operations on the server. Each user can view the operations performed by the other user.
The private mode allows only one user to use the remote console to access and perform operations on the server. If you select this mode, the manual screenshot function is unavailable.
- Open the browser and enter the following in the address box:
- Either of the following:
- To log in to the HTML5 Integrated Remote Console, enter:
- https://IP address/remoteconsole?openWay=html5 or https://IP address/remoteconsole?openway=html5
- https://IP address/remote_access.asp?authParam=key&lp=lang&openWay=html5 or https://IP address/remote_access.asp?authParam=key&lp=lang&openway=html5
- To log in to the Java Integrated Remote Console, enter:
- https://IP address/remoteconsole, https://IP address/remoteconsole?openWay=jre, or https://IP address/remoteconsole?openway=jre
- https://IP address/remote_access.asp?authParam=key&lp=lang&openWay=jre or https://IP address/remote_access.asp?authParam=key&lp=lang&openway=jre
- key can be set through the Redfish interface for a direct connection with the KVM.
- lp indicates the type of the language used on the console.
- openWay can be openway or openWay only. Any of other values will cause a switch to the Java console.
- To log in to the HTML5 Integrated Remote Console, enter:
