Querying and Setting the IP Address on the BIOS

The server supports modification of the default iBMC user password on the BIOS. For details, see the BIOS parameter reference.

Accessing the iBMC CLI over the Serial Port

Before accessing the iBMC CLI over the serial port, ensure that the system serial port of the chassis is switched to the iBMC serial port. You can switch over the serial port by using the Querying and Redirecting the Serial Port (serialdir) command on the CLI.

1. Connect the local PC and the server using a serial cable.
2. Open HyperTerminal and set the following parameters:
   • Bits per second: 115200
   • Data bits: 8
   • Parity: None
   • Stop bits: 1
   • Flow control: None

   For details on how to set the parameters, see Figure 4-1.

3. Click Apply.
4. Enter the user name and password to access the CLI.

   The default user and the default password see Atlas Hardware Product User List.

5. Run the ipmcget -d ipinfo command to obtain the IP address.
