Mounting the Tabletop
Background
To prevent the tabletop from being scratched, clear the installation site and ensure there are no obstacles or sharp-edged objects around the tabletop.
- As the tabletop is heavy, arrange at least two persons to lift it.
- When you lie face up under the conference table for installing the tabletop, wear safety glasses to prevent dust from entering your eyes.
Procedure
- Install the center tabletop segment E11.
Insert the grooves of the tabletop segment into the fixture positions on the connecting piece E4 and on the connecting frame E5, as shown in Figure 8-20.
- Install the tabletop segment E10 in the same way as E11, as shown in Figure 8-21.
- Install the tabletop segments E8, E9, E12, and E13 in the same way, as shown in Figure 8-22.
All the tabletop segments must be level with each other. If they are not level, gently hammer the tabletop segments as required using a rubber mallet.
- Mount locking bars and securing tabs.
Mount ten locking bars and four securing tabs to the joints at the back of the tabletop segments, as shown in Figure 8-23.
- Put a locking bar into its slot. Use an M6 open ended wrench to tighten the screws, as shown in Figure 8-24.
Do not over-tighten the locking bar screws to avoid damaging the tabletop segment.
- Use the Phillips electric screwdriver to secure the securing tabs by using the sixteen M6 x 16 countersunk screws delivered with the securing tabs, as shown in Figure 8-25.
- Put a locking bar into its slot. Use an M6 open ended wrench to tighten the screws, as shown in Figure 8-24.
- Tighten the screws at the back of the tabletop.
Use the hexagon electric screwdriver to tighten thirty-six M6 x 16 hex socket screws to secure the left tabletop segment, as shown in Figure 8-26.
- Install the bottom boards for the tabletop displays.
The bottoms boards for the six tabletop displays are installed in the same way. Place the bottom boards in the right places without tightening any screws, as shown in Figure 8-27.
- Install the slope boards for the four tabletop displays.
Place the slope board with its slope facing upward, as shown in Figure 8-28. Make sure that the upper edges of the slope board are level with the inner edges of the tabletop display.
- Mount the backboards for the tabletop displays.
- Place the corresponding backboard on the back of the tabletop display, as shown in Figure 8-29.
Before mounting a backboard, check the label on the backboard to ensure that the grain of the backboard matches that of the tabletop. The backboard labeled by LEFT or RIGHT is to be installed at the back of the tabletop display on the left or right. Four backboards to be installed in the middle are labeled by MID.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten four M4 x 12 cross recessed pan head screws to secure the backboard, as shown in Figure 8-30.
To avoid damaging the backboard, do not over-tighten the screws.
- Insert four rubber stoppers into the four screw holes, as shown in Figure 8-31.
- Place the corresponding backboard on the back of the tabletop display, as shown in Figure 8-29.
