Mounting Multi-Functional Outlets

Background

When using the telepresence system, you can pull out the video cable (V10) from the right multi-functional outlet to connect your computer. When you are not using the telepresence system, you can put the cables back into the multi-functional outlet. The telepresence system is equipped with two multi-functional outlets.

Procedure

1. Remove the two covers and the cable securing tabs from the multi-functional outlets.
2. Route the video cables through the installation holes of the multi-functional outlets all the way to the multi-functional conference table.

   The length of video cable (V10) kept on the table ranges from 1 m to 1.1 m.

3. After routing the cables through the multi-functional outlets, put the multi-functional outlets back to the installation holes. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten four M4 x 12 cross recessed pan head screws to secure the multi-functional outlets, as shown in Figure 7-36.

   Do not over-tighten the screws to avoid damaging the table.

4. Put the cables into the securing tab slot and cover them with the securing tab, as shown in Figure 7-37. Press the tab to lock it into place.

   Differences between the securing tab of the left multi-functional outlet and that of the right multi-functional outlet:

   • In the left multi-functional outlet, a securing tab with two slots is used, as shown in Figure 7-38.

   • In the right multi-functional outlet, a securing tab with one slot is used, as shown in Figure 7-39.

     Figure 7-40 shows the right multi-functional outlet after the securing tab is locked into place.

5. Put the video cables back to the multi-functional outlet with cable connectors kept above the securing tab.
6. Press and lock the two covers onto the multi-functional outlet. As Figure 7-41 shows, attach the smaller cover first and then the larger one.

7. Route and bundle the video cables along table legs and make sure that the cables are bent, as shown in Figure 7-42.

   Route and bundle the cables according to Figure 7-42 so that cables can be put back in the multi-functional outlets.
