Mounting the Tabletop
Background
To prevent the tabletop from being scratched, clear the installation site and ensure there are no obstacles or sharp objects around the tabletop.
- As the tabletop is heavy, arrange at least two persons to lift it.
- When you lie face up under the conference table for installing the tabletop, wear safety glasses to prevent dust from entering your eyes.
Procedure
- Secure the center tabletop segment (E-02).
- Place the center tabletop segment (E-02) and align the screw holes on table legs.
- Use the hexagon electric screwdriver to tighten six M6 x 16 hex socket screws to secure the center tabletop segment, as shown in Figure 7-13.
- Place the left and right tabletop segments (E-01 and E-03).
Place the left and right tabletop segments (E-01 and E-03) on the left and right connecting frames, and align with the positioning blocks, as shown in Figure 7-14.
The three tabletop segments must be level with each other. If they are not level, gently hammer the tabletop segments as required using a rubber mallet.
- Mount locking bars and securing tabs.
Mount four locking bars and four securing tabs to the joints at the bottom of the tabletop segments, as shown in Figure 7-15.
- Put a locking bar into its slot. Use an M6 open ended wrench to tighten the screws, as shown in Figure 7-16.
Do not over-tighten the locking bar screws to avoid damaging the tabletop board.
- Use the Phillips electric screwdriver to secure the securing tabs by using the M6 x 16 countersunk screws delivered with the securing tabs, as shown in Figure 7-17.
- Put a locking bar into its slot. Use an M6 open ended wrench to tighten the screws, as shown in Figure 7-16.
- Secure the left and right tabletop segments (E-01 and E-03).
- Use the hexagon electric screwdriver to tighten six M6 x 16 hex socket screws to secure the left tabletop segment, as shown in Figure 7-18.
If the mounting holes in the tabletop cannot be aligned with those in the connecting frame, drill self-tapping screw holes in the tabletop and tighten the self-tapping screws to secure the connecting frame to the tabletop.
- Secure the right tabletop segment in the same way as you secure the left tabletop segment.
- Use the hexagon electric screwdriver to tighten six M6 x 16 hex socket screws to secure the left tabletop segment, as shown in Figure 7-18.
- Install the bottom boards for the tabletop displays.
The methods to mount the bottoms boards for the three tabletop displays are the identical. You do not need to tighten any screws, as shown in Figure 7-19.
- Install the slope boards for the four tabletop displays.
- Place the slope board with its slope facing upward, as shown in Figure 7-20. Make sure that the upper edges of the slope board are level with the inner edges of the tabletop display.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten two M4 x 12 cross recessed pan head screws in a diagonal line to secure the slope board, as shown in Figure 7-21.
- Mount the backboards for the four tabletop displays.
- Place the corresponding backboard on the back of the tabletop display, as shown in Figure 7-22.
Before mounting a backboard, check the label on the backboard to ensure that the grain of the backboard matches that of the tabletop. The backboards are numbered E-01, E-02, and E-03 corresponding to the tabletop segments.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten four M4 x 12 cross recessed pan head screws to secure the backboard, as shown in Figure 7-23.
To avoid damaging the backboard, do not over-tighten the screws.
- Insert four rubber stoppers into the four screw holes, as shown in Figure 7-24.
- Place the corresponding backboard on the back of the tabletop display, as shown in Figure 7-22.
