Legacy Mode
- Mount the OS ISO image to the virtual CD/DVD drive.
- Restart the server. When the following screen is displayed, press Delete or F4.
- Enter the password as prompted during the startup. The default BIOS password is Admin@9000.
The front page is displayed, as shown in the following figure.
- Use the arrow keys to choose Boot Manager.
- On the Boot Manager screen, press F5 or F6 to set the disk where the OS is to be installed as the first boot device, and select Virtual DVD-ROM VM 1.1.0 and press Enter.
- On the initial installation screen, select Graphical install and press Enter.
- Select a language (for example, use the default option English) and click Continue.
- Select a location and click Continue.
- Configure locales and click Continue.
- Select a keyboard layout and click Continue.
The system starts to scan the CD-ROM. If the CD-ROM does not exist, a message will be displayed.
- Select a network interface and click Continue.
- Select No and click Continue.
- Select Configure network manually and click Continue.
- Enter the IP address and click Continue.
- Set the netmask and click Continue.
- Enter the gateway and click Continue.
- Enter the name server address and click Continue.
The system starts to detect the IP address.
- Set the hostname and domain name and click Continue.
- Set a root password and click Continue.
- Set a username for the new user and click Continue.
- Set a password for the new user, confirm the password, and click Continue.
- Select a partitioning mode as required (for example, select Manual) and click Continue.
If the RAID controller card is installed by loading a driver, disks mounted to the controller card cannot be identified. In this case, you need to load a driver to identify the disks and then go to the Partition disks screen. For details, see How Do I Load a RAID Controller Card Driver During OS Installation?.
- Select a disk and click Continue.
- Select Yes and click Continue.
- Select a disk for partitioning.
- After the partitions are created (as shown in the following figure), click Finish partitioning and write changes to disk.
- Select Yes and click Continue.
- Select No and click Continue.
- Select No and click Continue.
- Select No and click Continue.
- Select the software to be installed according to your requirements and click Continue.
The software installation starts.
The system starts to install the GRUB boot loader.
- After the OS installation is complete, click Continue to restart the system.
If the RAID controller card is installed by loading a driver, you need to install the RAID controller card driver. Otherwise, the server cannot be restarted. For details, see Install a RAID Controller Card Driver Before the OS is Installed and the Server is Restarted.
- After the OS is restarted, log in to the system using the created password.
