Modifying the Server Management Network IP Addresses in Batches
Use SmartKit to quickly modify the IP addresses of management network ports on servers in batches.
Prerequisites
- Cross routing is not allowed between the PC and server when the MAC address or SN is used for configuration.
- In the initial configuration, the IPv6 function must be enabled on the PC when the MAC address or SN is used for configuration. For details about how to enable the IPv6 function, see Enabling IPv6.
If an IPv6 address has been configured for the server, you need to enable the IPv6 function on the PC and configure the IPv6 address by referring to Configuring an IPv6 address.
Data Preparation
- You have obtained the serial numbers of all servers.
- You have planned the IP addresses and subnet masks of the BMC management network ports on servers.
Procedure
- On the SmartKit home page, choose Server > Site Deployment Delivery > IP Configuration.
The IP Configuration wizard is displayed.
- Click IP Configuration. The IP Config page is displayed, as shown in Figure 1-4.
- Select By MAC or SN to configure the IP address of the management network port by using the MAC address or serial number.
Table 1-3 lists the key parameters.

IPv4 Mode
Mode for obtaining the IP address of the BMC management network port. The value can be Static or DHCP. This step uses Static as an example.
Static: A fixed IP address is manually configured and remains unchanged for a long time.
IPv4 Address
Planned IP address of the BMC management network port.
The value is a 32-digit decimal number.
IPv4 Mask
Planned subnet mask.
This parameter is used to divide an IP address into subnets. The length is 32 bits.
IPv4 Gateway
Gateway address of the BMC management network port.
Host Name
The value consists of digits, letters, and minus signs.
Set this parameter if you need to specify a host name.
- Complete the configuration as prompted.
