Atlas 500 Pro AI Edge Server (Model 3000) Network Planning
Server Network Port Planning
Figure 1-18 and Table 1-13 show the network port planning for the Atlas 500 Pro AI edge server (model 3000). After connecting the cables, deploy and configure the server using a PC. For details about the PC network requirements, see Table 1-14.
Physical Network Port |
Description |
---|---|
1 (management network port) |
This port is used to:
|
2 (debugging serial port) |
This port is used for debugging. |
3 (GE electrical ports) |
Use one or more network ports based on service requirements to:
|
4 (4 x 10GE/25GE optical ports) |
Network Plane |
Description |
---|---|
Management and service network planes NOTE:
Generally, a PC or laptop uses only one network port. You need to switch the network segment of the network port between the management network plane and service network plane to implement different tasks. |
Management network plane is used to:
Service network plane is used to:

Typical Networking
Figure 1-19 shows the typical networking of the Atlas 500 Pro AI edge server. IEF is short for Intelligent EdgeFabric, and FD is short for FusionDirector.
Table 1-15 describes the network planning.
HA Type |
Port |
IP Address |
Description |
Edge node (active) |
Management network port |
IP address of the iBMC management network port |
Used to log in to the iBMC management system. |
10GE/25GE optical port |
Floating IP address (active) |
Used for the communication with external devices, such as IP cameras (IPCs). If the active node is faulty, the floating IP address of the active node is migrated to the standby node, and the standby node uses this IP address to communicate with external devices. |
|
Arbitration IP address (active) |
Used to assist the dual backup function in active/standby arbitration. This IP address is optional. The system periodically checks whether the arbitration IP address can be pinged to determine the network connectivity. Generally, this parameter is set to the IP address of the gateway. |
||
Management IP address (active) |
Used for interconnection with FusionDirector. |
||
GE electrical port |
Heartbeat IP address (active) |
Used for heartbeat detection and file synchronization between the active and standby nodes. |
|
Edge node (standby) |
Management network port |
IP address of the iBMC management network port |
Used to log in to the iBMC management system. |
10GE/25GE optical port |
Floating IP address (standby) |
Used for the communication with external devices, such as IP cameras (IPCs). If the active node is faulty, the floating IP address of the active node is migrated to the standby node, and the standby node uses this IP address to communicate with external devices. |
