What Is a Management Protocol?
Management protocols are used to manage network devices. They can be used to manage firewalls or manage other network devices through firewalls based on services.
Most traffic for managing firewalls can be permitted by enabling the interface access control function. However, this function cannot control the source of traffic. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that the interface access control function be disabled and a security policy with accurate matching conditions be configured to permit traffic from specified traffic senders.
Telnet, FTP, and TFTP have security risks. You are advised to use SSH for remote login and file transfer, which is more secure than them. The following sections can be referenced only for configuring a temporary security policy. Specify the source and destination IP addresses in the temporary security policy and disable it after using it.
