Configuring the Stack Competition Delay
Context
During a stack restart, the startup time of member switches varies. If the startup time difference is large and the previous master switch starts slowly, it may become the standby switch after restarting. To prevent this problem, before the stack restart, configure the stack competition delay for the switches that start quickly so that stack competition begins after the switch that starts slowly finishes starting.
Procedure
- Run the system-view command to enter the system view.
- Run the stack command to enter the stack management view.
- Run the stack member member-id competition-delay delay-time command to configure the stack competition delay.
By default, the stack competition delay is 0 seconds.
This command can be executed only when the stacking function has been enabled.
- Run the commit command to commit the configuration.
