Installing a CE8850 Switch
Procedure
- Determine the position of the switch in the cabinet.Figure 8-47 Switch positions
- Install a switch.
- Two persons are required to install the device. One faces the front view of the cabinet, and the other faces the rear view of the cabinet.
- To prevent device damage or personal injury, hold the bottom of the device with both hands when installing it.
- When installing a CE8850 switch, align it with the rear panel of a compute node.
- Install mounting ears. Tighten the 12 countersunk screws on the left and right mounting ears on both sides of the switch, as shown in Figure 8-48.
- Push the switch into the cabinet horizontally from the front of the cabinet. See (1) in Figure 8-49.
- Tighten the screws to secure the left and right mounting ears to the front mounting bars of the cabinet. See (2) in Figure 8-49.
- Tighten the screws to secure the scabbards and the left and right mounting ears. See Figure 8-50.
- Connect cables to the switch. For details, see Cable Connection.
- Check indicator status.
