Unpacking a Cabinet
- Before unpacking a cabinet, check whether the outer packing and seals are in good condition.
If the outer packing is damaged (for example, the outer packing is soaked or deformed, or the seals or pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is unsealed), keep the field evidence and provide feedback to the supplier or Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.
- After unpacking the cabinet, check the model and quantity of objects in the packing case against the packing list and sign the packing list.
If the quantity or model of any device does not conform to the packing list, store the unpacked devices, unpacked packages, and packing materials indoors properly, take photos of the storage site, rusty or corroded devices, packing cases, and packaging materials, and archive the photos.
- Do not remove stiffeners from the cabinet during the moving process. Remove them only after the cabinet is moved to the position.
Procedure
- Use a forklift to carry the cabinet to the equipment room, and remove the forklift.Figure 8-22 Moving a cabinet
- Use a box cutter or diagonal pliers to cut the packing straps on the outer packing.
Exercise caution with the box cutter to avoid injury to your hands or damage to devices.

- Remove the two screws between the bottom of the cabinet and the pallet, as shown in Figure 8-30.
Before removing the screws, remove the cable ties that secure the liquid cooling tube.
- Use an adjustable wrench to raise the leveling feet to the top so that the casters of the cabinet touch the ground. Ensure that the leveling feet do not touch the ground when the cabinet slopes.Figure 8-31 Raising the leveling feet
- Gently slide the cabinet down to the ground along the ramp. At least four persons are required to secure the cabinet and keep it stand upright.
- At least four persons are required to move the cabinet. Two push the cabinet from the back while the other two hold both sides of the cabinet.
- During the movement, ensure that no person is in front of the cabinet to avoid personal injury.
- When you move the cabinet, push the lower part of the cabinet to avoid toppling of the cabinet.
- If you intend to transport the cabinet to other places in the future, properly keep all removed packing materials (including ESD bags, screws, elevator-crossing plate, and ramp).
- After the cabinet is moved to the ground, use the adjustable wrench to remove the standby elevator-crossing plate from the pallet. When moving the cabinet into an elevator or there is a narrow gap on the road during movement, place the elevator-crossing plate between the elevator and the floor or on the gap to prevent the casters of the cabinet being stuck in the gap.
