Installing a CE6865 Switch

Procedure

1. Determine the position of the switch in the cabinet.

2. Install a switch.
   • Two persons are required to install the device. One faces the front view of the cabinet, and the other faces the rear view of the cabinet.
   • To prevent device damage or personal injury, hold the bottom of the device with both hands when installing it.
   • When installing a CE6865 switch, align it with the rear panel of a compute node.
   1. Remove the ground screw from the ground point of the switch, as shown in Figure 8-52.

   2. Install mounting ears. Tighten the 12 countersunk screws on the left and right mounting ears on both sides of the switch, as shown in Figure 8-53.

   3. Push the switch into the cabinet horizontally from the front of the cabinet. See (1) in Figure 8-54.
   4. Tighten the screws to secure the left and right mounting ears to the front mounting bars of the cabinet. See (2) in Figure 8-54.

   5. (Optional) Tighten the screws that secure the scabbards and the left and right mounting ears. See Figure 8-55.

   6. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the ground screws from the switch, as shown in Figure 8-56.

3. Connect cables to the switch. For details, see Cable Connection.
4. Check indicator status.
