A telecommunication carrier uses multiple 2M E1 interfaces on the NE16E for MP binding between two offices because service development needs link capacity expansion. After capacity expansion, the users report that all the traffic still travels through the former links and there is no traffic on the newly expanded links.
Adjust the slots of the interfaces participating in binding and ensure all the E1 interfaces participating in the same MP binding are in the same VIU.
Log on to the equipment and find that the new MP binding interfaces and the original interfaces are not in the same VIU. Currently, when the NE16E/08E/05 makes MP binding, it requires all the interfaces participating in the same MP binding should be in the same VIU. Although the MP binding can be configured across VIU, the equipment takes it as another MP binding or another link from the viewpoint of route management. Therefore, there is no traffic on the newly added links.
