Quidway3640E follows the CE1 interface standard in interconnection with Quidway2501

Issue Description

 1. When Quidway3640E interconnects with Quidway2501, it uses MECURY3600 that connecting with E1 line to connect to Quidway3640E since Quidway2501 does not support E1 connector. Quidway3640E follows the E1 interface standard.

2. After both routers and MECURY3600 are configured correctly, the connection protocols of routers at both sides and physical protocol are up, but they cannot ping through to the peer. 

Alarm Information

There are a lot of alarms for discarding packets.

Handling Process

Use CE1 interface mode to connect Quidway3640E with Quidway2501, and then plug in the connector again. The problem is solved.

Root Cause

Quidway3640E uses the wrong protocol, which results in failure in interconnection with Quidway2501. MECURY3600 belongs to timeslot switch equipment, so the peer Quidway3640E needs to support timeslot interface mode.


 CE1 interface standard must be used in interconnection between Quidway3640E and Quidway2501
