Q: How to cut over services of router in ISIS area smoothly by using set overload?
A: In smooth cutover of services on equipment and links, first adjust the cost value of links as to lead the traffic to other equipment; then, cut the services over the equipment adjusted. At present, the networks that run ISIS become more and more, and so do the interfaces that enable ISIS. Thus, cutting services through adjusting the cost vlaue of one link is very slow; moreover, each adjusting for cost value of one link will cause the router to generate one trigger update for LSP, and then flood it within level and calculate SPF. Service cutover through cost-value adjusting increases the complexity of debug and burdens the entire network. To simplify the troubleshooting, configure the router to adjust with set overload, so it will generate LSP fragments, and flood them in level and calculate the path. After SPF calculation and route convergence, the services are led to other equipment, and then it is the time to cut over services.
