NE5000E/NE80E are very complicated in system structure, and so does the composition of LPU.
The LPU of NE5000E&NE80E consists of two parts: LPU that is responsible for forwarding, and FAD that is responsible for matching of LPU and network board, and the QOS. NE80E and NE5000E support the following combinations:
LPUA+FADB LPUA uses 2800 network process unit; FADB finishes the matching of network boards of LPUA and NE80E.
LPUA+FADD LPUA uses 2800 network processor unit; FADD finishes the matching of network boards of LPUA and NE80E.
LPUX+FADA LPUX is the one supported by NE80NE40, and FADA finishes the matching of LPUX and the network boards of NE80E.
LPUB+FADC LPUB uses the forwarding engine of 588ASIC; FADC finishes the matching of LPUB and the network boards of NE5000E.
LPUC LPUC does not have FAD, and it has integrated with the functionality of QOS and to match with network board of NE5000E
LPUX+FADF LPUX is the one ever being supported by NE80NE40, and FADF finishes the matching of LPUX with the network boards of NE5000E.
