Three NE40E are interconnected with GE. Open VPLS service as PE. Three GE interfaces of smartbits act as CE device. when the configuration is finished and the link is UP, VPLS service is normal. Forward one-way traffic from smartbits_port1 to Smartbits_port2, test whether the forwarding is normal or not. It is found that Smartbits_port3 also receives the unicast traffic.
Configure static MAC on three NE40E or let the traffic of port2 and port3 send. PE device learns MAC address of attached CE device to ensure normal forwarding.
The topology is GE link and VPLS service is normal. Only unicast changes as broadcast traffic forwarding. Find the reason from the basis.
Check learned MAC on three NE40E. It is found that only one MAC address is learned-MAC address of Smartbits_port1. VPLS is L2 VPN. When destination MAC does not learn, only broadcast is forwarded to all ports. Smartbits_port2 and port3 receive unicast traffic of port1.
Notice that VPLS can be taken as large L2 switch.
