When configuring L3 ethernet interface with an ip address, i've noticed that the interface mac address is broadcast (all f). Although the interface is up but i can not ping it, and there is no ARP entry for this ip on the other equipment that is connected to. However when changing the port to L2 (portswitch) and configuring a VLAN interface it works fine, and it binds a proper MAC address. NE 40 version is NE40NE80-VRP5.30-0236.01
This system is for test not live network
Although LPU CR01EGFEF is published is a routing board and it allows you to configrue the interfaces as WAN (L3) interfaces but it's working in Switching mode. We have to change the port mode to switch port, make it a member of a VLAN,and configure a VLANIF to make it work.
when we check the configuration file we found that ethernet interface 1/0/0 and 2/0/0 take the same MAC address when assign them to VLAN interfaces but interface ethernet 1/0/15 take IP address without assign it to VLAN interface and because of that the MAC address of it (ffffff.....) which means that port not have MAC address like the shutdown ethernet ports
but if we check the POS interfaces in the other LPU we will find that these interfaces have MAC addresses which mean that the problem not from the software.
