MPLS LSPs cannot be established if two routers have L2 FE connection (by LAN FE ports)

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  97 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

Both NE40 routers have E1 serial ports (WAN) and FE ports (LAN-switched). The routers are interconnected by both FE and E1 ports. Through FE ports we plan to use L2 and VRRP, through E1 ports we plan to use MPLS. But after connection and configuration MPLS LSP can't be established. If you plug-out the FE cable - soon MPLS LSP are established successfully. If you plug FE cable in again - MPLS LSP disappear again.

Root Cause

L2 connection between routers prevents MPLS LSP to be established.
