A: 
Upgrade of VRP for mid-range routers (26XX/36XX series) can use TFTP (the router works as TFTP Client) , FTP (the router works FTP Server) and XMODEM.
The upgrade of VRP for low-end routers (16XX, 25XX, 4001 series) can use FTP (the router works as FTP Server) and XMODEM. 
The upgrade of Bootrom for mid-range and low-end routers can only use XMODEM method.
