I did upgrade to NE40 from version VRP 3.10 to VRP 5.30. when I start the upgrade i find that the flash is smaller than the new version (54 Mega Byte). So I copy the version 5.30, License.txt and PAF.txt to the HD (hard disk) using FTP protocol. then I copy to the slave SRU hard disk using the command :
<NE40> copy hd:/ne40.bin slot10#hd:/ne40.bin
<NE40> copy hd:/license.txt slot10#hd:/license.txt
<NE40> copy hd:/paf.txt slot10#hd:/paf.txt
after that I boot from the new version as follow :
Use the following command for the master SRU.
<NE40> bootload from hd hd:/ne40.bin
Use the following command for the slave SRU.
<NE40> bootload slave from hd fhd:/ne40.bin
After that I reboot the NE40-8 router.
After the reboot of the NE40 router, the router work normaly but there was alarm in the SRU boards.
I tried to copy the license and paf to the flash of the master and the slave SRU as follow :
<NE40> copy hd:/license.txt flash:/license.txt
<NE40> copy hd:/paf.txt flash:/paf.txt
<NE40> copy flash:/license.txt slot10#flash:/license.txt
<NE40> copy flash:/paf.txt slot10#flash:/paf.txt
after that, I reboot the router. there is no alarm led in the SRU boards.
Since the router work normaly, I doubt in the license and the paf file.
If you make upgrade to NE40 router, even you have not space to copy the new version to the flash, copy the license and paf to the flash.
