Before troubleshooting that the electric interface of R3640 is UP and Down frequently, upgrade the version.
Download the version to the local device through FTP, but the Flash is found of no sufficient space, and it needs to remove the running system. For other devices, they can directly delete, load and specify the bootfile, but they do not have the command for deletion, and there is no description on it in the upgrade guid.
Old version: VRP1.74 0105 is upgraded to VRP1.74 0120
After investigation to data and telephone consultation, R3640 is an device of old type, and it does not have the command and option to remove the system, so system upgrade has to use Xmodem to import the new system so as to overwrite the original. After many tests, the uupgrade is as follows:
1. Save the established network's configuration, version and logs.
2. Reset the device, and press Ctrl+B to enter BOOT menu.
3. Press 5 to enter system option and then select 4; write the current Boot rom into Flash. In the current menu, there is the option of Use XModem to download file, but do not select it; in test, selecting the option will fail the loading of file without obvious reasons, and the problem persists for many times in tests.
4. Quit the main menu, and then select 1; use Xmodem to load the new system.
The file will decompress to the Flash after completion of loading; reset the system and the upgrade is finished.
The device is old, and the details on operation is not sufficient.
These are old devices, and they differ from the current devices in operations.
