introduction to the network topology :
subscribers CDMA wll --> PDSN -->S3640 router -"4E1"->isp Lucent server:
the NAT configuered in S3640 router ,and network protocol used is frame relay protocol .
the subscriber complaint the net speed is slow, and the costumer request to check E1 link stability and configuration of S3640 router
alrme describe link up/down and lost of 40% packet when perform ping command.
-when using frame relay protocol and we use more the than one E1 connection we should bundle all the link using MFR(multilinks fame relay) in order to bind all the E1s link s together in one bandwith according to standard and technical manual of datacom product .
1-check the S3640 configuration (serial interface, FRAME relay parameters ,route)all is correspand to the isp lucent server(next hope).
2-check the E1s transsmission and link using romote loop back and local loop back, and try to ping the next hope and see the delay: we found one E1 link bad because of the bad connection of DDF witch cause the packet lost.
3-we check DNS 10.10.1.202 by ping command ,test ok.
4-monitor the total bandwith in isp lucent server (we found 2M but it should be 8M because we are using 4E1s).
1-if we cant’ use MFR(multilink FR) because ISP can’t support thus feautur or havent licence is better to change the protocol to PPP protocol also but you should also bundle all the E1 in one groupe.
2-the engineer should always check carrefully and refere to the technical manual for protocol and datacom product not only troubleshooting manual .
