It was discovered that both the routers have their physical links UP and both the routers were acting as master and nodes in the same network can ping the virtual IP but can not ping one of the two routers in VRRP.
No alarm was found; however we can not ping one of the two routers participating in the VRRP.
From the third device in the same network, having the default gateway as Virtual router IP, it was discovered that it was unable to ping the router2 interface, however it was able to ping router1 and virtual IP.
By mistake customers connected the fibers in the ODF in wrong location and the interface status of the VRRP router2 went UP, since the router2 failed to communicate with router1 having the same VRID it assumed it self to be in Master state.
Pay Attention while commissioning of fiber, by such kind of mistake Customers assume that the link is up and it is the hot backup which will take all the traffic in case of failure of Primary link, unfortunately this won’t happen and accidents will occur.
