The abnormal log information of ospf neighbor down

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  80 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

The NE40s run OSPF over E1 MP_Groups.When the  E1 transmission problem occurs.Only one side(NE40_01) of OSPF peer shows the information of neighbor down,another side(NE40_02) still consider OSPF link is OK.
This phenomenon may cause problem when we use two links which backup each other because there is one side would still send packet to the broken link.

Alarm Information

none

Handling Process

1.Check the "display clock" information,and two sides of NE40s show different information.
2.Use the command "clock timezone time-zone-name { add | minus } offset" to change the timezone of the NE40s to match with each other.

Root Cause

The log buffer is concerned to the system timezone,so the different timezone configuration of NE40s may cause the uncorresponding information of the log buffer.

Suggestions

Before we check the log information of the equipments running in the network,we  must confirm the system time of the equipments is right.
