They have NE40 router as a bgp gateway connnected to 3 Internet Providers (EBGP peers). As a IGP they are using OSPF. There was a problem with IP routing. Some of the internet addresses were not available from the Hawe network but these addresses were available from bgp gateway (NE40).
To change the size of FIB of LPU board from small (50k) to large (300k).
We checked configurations of NE40 and S8505. We also checked the outputs of ping and traceroute command performing on S8505 and NE40. The configurations of these devices were correct. There was no possible to ping or trace some of internet addresses from S8505 but it was possible to ping from NE40 gateway router. These internet addresses not available from the Hawe network we could see in NE40 bgp routing table and IP routing table.
We checked the amount of entries in IP routing table using "display ip routing-table statistics". It turned out that there were 231k active routes. We suggested the customer to change the size of FIB on LPU board from small to large (from 50k to 300k).
We sent a procedure to change the size of FIB to the customer. The customer changed it and after that everything works properly.
