The Service Is Interrupted When the GE Interface of the NE40 Is Added to the Eth-Trunk and the Fiber at RX Direction of the Member Interface Is Removed

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  61 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
The GE interface of the NE40 is added to an Eth-Trunk. When the fiber at RX direction is removed and that at TX direction is reserved, the traffic on the Eth-Trunk is interrupted.
Alarm Information
Handling Process
The GE interface is added to the Eth-Trunk. When the fiber of the GE interface at RX direction is removed and that at TX direction is reserved, the local GE interface is Down and the peer GE interface is Up. In this manner, link failure cannot be detected. The service is calculated through the Hash algorithm; thus, the traffic on the link is interrupted.
Root Cause
The router checks whether the optical interface is Up or Down through received optical signals.
Increase the functions of the product to improve the utilization.
1. When the GE interface at RX direction is Down, set the GE interface at TX direction Down.
2. Add link detection mechanism and re-calculate path to ensure the service.
