Unreleased DCC bytes of OSN 3500 result in failure of changing the DCC work mode

Issue Description

The OSN 3500 equipment serves for SDH. By default, there are 10 channels of 3-byte modes, and 10 channels of 9-byte modes. The 3-byte DCCs are not sufficient for expansion of the optical boards in the local network, so it is necessary to change the DCC work mode of the equipment. On the NMS, the operation of network element DCC access management fails, and the command line cm-set-dccpara :reset fails to take effect.

Handling Process

1. Query about the network element DCC by running :cm-get-bdinfo, :cm-get-dccpara, and :cm-get-ohpchan.
2. Release the DCC bytes of the 9-byte work mode by using :cm-del-ohpchan:Bid at the optical interface D4-D12.
3. Set the DCC mode :cm-set-dccpara:40,0,0.
4. Reset the network element by running :reset.       

Root Cause

The NE 9-byte work mode occupies the DCC processing bytes of the NE. Therefore, first it is necessary to release the DCC bytes occupied by the 9-byte work mode.      


Remember to first release the DCC mode never to be used before changing the DCC mode.
