The active and standby cross-connect boards on an OptiX OSN 3500 NE frequently report the test_status alarm.
Test_status, which indicates that the board enters the test status.
1. On the T2000, check the test_status alarm reported by the cross-connect boards. It is found that the cross-connect boards of many NEs report the alarms at different times. Therefore, the fault lies outside the boards.
2. Check the operations performed on the NE earlier. It is found that an engineer patrols the NE with a patrol tool.
3. After the operations, check the test_status alarm reported by the cross-connect boards on the T2000. It is found that the alarms are cleared after the patrol.
An engineer manually issues a command to cause the test status.
The Inspector tool drives the board into the test status with a command before checking some items of a board. Thus, the board reports the test_status alarm. The alarm affects no services. The board quits the test status after the patrol.
Remind patrollers of the status change.
