In the case of the OptiX OSN 6800&3800 V1R1, when the ODU1 service with SNC/N protection traverses the electrical regenerator, a fault occurs at the upstream and the SNC/N protection switching fails at the downstream.
NE A dually feeds the service, NE B performs electrical regeneration on the service, and NE C selectively receives the service. When a fault occurs in the fiber between NE A and NE B, the SNC/N protection switching on NE C fails.
In the case of the SNC/N protection, enable the ODU1-level non-intrusive monitoring for the optical interfaces that the working and protection channels (NS2 board) traverse. If op1.1 port of NS2 board housed in slot 11 is configured with the SNC/N protection, enable the non-intrusive monitoring of op1.1 port (choose OTN > PM overhead from the Function Tree of the board).
For the ODU1-level SNC/N protection, service signals are detected through the PM section overhead detection capability of the ODU1.The NE software associates the enabling of the non-intrusive monitoring of the ODU1 with the monitored conditions of the protection group. In the case of the SNC/N protection group, the SNC/N protection group can monitor the PM section only when the ODU1-level non-intrusive monitoring is enabled for the optical interfaces that the working and protection channels (NS2 board) traverse.
