In an office, an ONT (HG850) works in the normal state and registers with the MA5680T successfully, but the MA5680T generates the alarms such as loss of the GEM cell.
The alarms of loss of the GEM cell, GEM channel recovery, and ONU signal deterioration are cyclically generated.
Add an optical splitter between the ONT and the MA5680T. Then, the system re-finds the ONT automatically. After the auto-found ONT registers successfully, the alarms are no longer generated, and the ONT is in the normal state.
The ONT is directly connected to the MA5680T through optical fibers, so the optical power is very high. In this case, the signals of the GEM channel that the physical line bears are lost first, then recover, and then deteriorate. When the ONT registers with the MA5600T again, the preceding alarms are generated cyclically.
Do not connect the ONT directly to the MA5680T. Add an optical attenuator or optical splitter between the ONT and the MA5680T to reduce the optical power.
