The alarm box of Huawei is adopted to provide a visual and an audible alarm. The user can set the filter condition for the alarms to be exported to the alarm box. The alarm box will trigger the sound to prompt the user whenever a new alarm is received. To differentiate the level of the alarm, the relative sound files are slightly different. BMS supports in setting this kind of correlative ties between corresponding alarms and sound files.
By using iManager N2000 BMS, network monitoring engineer able to maintain and to configure the attributes of the alarm box. There are 3 major steps which need to be configure in order for the alarm box initialization and operation to work well
Software: iManager N2000 BMS client
How to setup the Alarm Box of the N2000 BMS Client ?
1. Setting the alarm box by iManager N2000 BMSclient
Step 1 Choose Fault > Fault Setting > Local Property.
The Local Property dialog box is displayed.
Step 2 Click the Others tab, as show in Fig. 1 *
Port name: COM1 or COM2
Stop bit: STOPBITS_1
Parity Check: PARITY_NONE
Please set the parameter of the alarm as shown above.
2. Setting the COM port in PC or server
Step 1 Choose Start >Control panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager
The Device Manager dialog box is displayed in Fig. 2*
Step 2 Choose Ports (COM&LPT)>Communication Port (COM1)
The Communication Port (COM1) box is displayed in Fig. 3 *
Bits per second: 4800
Data bits: 8
Stop bits: 1
Flow control: None
Port settings parameters will be based on the information above.
3.Modify the faultboxsetting.xml value
In the iManager N2000 BMS, the value of “faultboxinit” by default is “false”. In order for alarm box initialization successfully, the value need to modify to “true”
Step 1 Go to directory C:\n2000\client\style\defaultstyle\conf\fault as shown in Fig. 4 *
Step 2. Open faultboxsetting.xml with notepad as shown in Fig 5 *
Step 3. Modify the faultboxinit value from “false” to “true”
Step 4. After modify the value and check to ensure all the setting are correct, and then save the file and restart the client.
