A customer reports that the SEP interface board EU08 of the OptiX OSN 3500 is replaced with the OU08, the original EU08 logical board cannot be deleted. The NMS reports that the commands on the board cannot be implemented. The field engineers use command lines to query the data and find that the logical board in the slot replaced with OU08 is 09 C5. Use command lines to delete the board, and the following message is reported: failed! cmd:0x802f error:0x9762 NSERR_BDRSP_CARRY_ERR.
According to the preceding analysis, the troubleshooting procedure is as follows:
1. Perform warm or cold reset on the SCC board. The fault persists.
2. Clear the NE database and then download data from the NMS. The fault is rectified.
The reasons why the EU08 interface board of the SEP board cannot be deleted are as follows:
The error code and the alarm indicate that the subboard of the SEP board does not exist. The logical board of the subboard of the SEP board exists at the logical layer of the host. It can be inferred that the fault is caused by a database exception.
The OU08 interface board of the SEP board cannot be added. The reason why the logical board is displayed as 09 C5 is as follows:
The alarms and exceptions indicate that the ID 09 C5 of the OU08 board can be detected. But the host cannot be added, and an error message is displayed. It can be inferred that the fault is caused by an exception of the host database.
It is recommended that you check the NE database when the logical board is displayed in illegible characters.
