The EPL services between the EMS4 board on the OptiX OSN 1500and the EFS board on the Metro 1000 are paired. When the VCTRUNK interface on the EMS4 data board is set to the tag attribute, the test frame fails. When the VCTRUNK interface on the EMS4 data board is set to the access attribute, the test frame is successful. The version of the EMS4 board is 4.13, and the version of the EFS board is 2.21.

When the services between the EMS4 board and the EFS board are paired, and the EMS4 board transmits the test frame, two types of test frames are transmitted: MAC bearing mode and GFP bearing mode. When the test frames reach the EFS board, in the case of version 2.21, the EFS board can receive only the MAC test frame, and the response packet is also an MAC test frame. The MAS test frame responded from the EFS board has no VLAN. After the frame reaches the EMS4 board, the EMS4 board does not identify whether the test frame has VLAN. If the frame has no VLAN, the frame is discarded at the port which is set to the tag attribute, and the frame can access the port which is set to the access attribute.
Upgrade the EFS board to the 2.42 version to rectify the fault. The new version supports the MAC bearing mode and the GFP bearing mode. Therefore, the fault does not occur.
