FAQ-Why Does the Nexthop of a Direct Route Redistributed Not Change After the OSPF Cost Value of the OSPF Interconnection Interface Changes

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  388 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Why does the nexthop of a direct route redistributed not change after the OSPF cost value of the OSPF interconnection interface changes?
Alarm Information
Handling Process
The direct routes redistributed by OSPF fall into two types: TYPE 1 and TYPE 2. By default, redistributed direct routes are of TYPE 2. For TYPE 2 external routes, internal cost values are not calculated. Therefore, even if the cost value of the interconnected interface changes, the change does not affect TYPE 2 direct routes. After the redistributed direct routes are changed to TYPE 1and the interface cost is changed, the redistributed routes and nexthop take effect immediately.
