Customer wants to enable PITP or Option 82 feature on access device for more security in network (authorise subscriber based not only name and password and also port access device). After this some subscribers can’t authorize, access was deny by Billing server. The problem happened after customer start use load balancing between Ethernet ports, boards and between two BRAS.
1. Some access device don’t support PITP or option 82 features. In this case our BRAS add own port ID information (interface thought subscriber will authorize at first time).
2. So it is impossible to realize load balancing between two Ethernets ports, between two Boards and between two BRAS. Because every time subscriber will authorize through new port.
3. But in our software v1r6 has new feature. Nas logic-port if-type if-number command.
4. By using this command we can assign one logic-port to all Ethernet ports and our ME60 in every time insert same information to authentication request for all authentication request packets which which came on BRAS without port-id information.
After enable PITP Option 82, access device must send information about subscriber access port (port-ID) to BRAS.Then BRAS will forward this information in authentication request packets (In NAS-port-ID attribute) together with username and password to AAA server. It is additional condition for authorization of users. Then AAA server save information about port-ID and if some body try to use this password from others ports of access device AAA server will deny access.
This command is very useful for networks which have many types of equipment from different vendors.
