After the commissioning of the NEs, during the Acceptance Test it is noticed that the switching time exceeds the recommended time limit, i.e. 50ms. When checked for the corresponding events in transmission media it is found that the distance exceeds the recommended 1200 Km in the ring.
No service alarms are reported. Some bit errors were also observed in the performance monitoring.
The customer is suggested to use the fiber along the less distance route to recover the switching time lag.
When checked for the number of nodes in the ring, the nodes are as per standards (<16), switching events are successful for Signal Failure / Degradation events between the sections. However, total distance of the ring is about 1300Km which should be less than 1200km as per the standards.
The customer is suggested to use SNCP or to ensure the distance while configuring the multi-section protection on rings which span more than 1200 KM.
