Querying a Physical Board Failed on a New OptiX OSN 1500 NE

Issue Description

This case occurs during an attempt of adding an OptiX OSN 1500 NE to the T2000. When the engineers add the NE to the T2000, the system does not display any physical board on the NE, including the SCC. Then, run: cfg-get-phybd to query the physical boards on the NE. The command returns null. As a result, the NE cannot be added. 

Alarm Information

The command: cfg-get-phybd returns null.  

Handling Process

1. Leave a single SCC board on the NE and then add the NE. The problem persists and the NE cannot be added.
2. Replace the SCC with a normal one and then add the NE. The NE is added successfully.
3. Analyze the databases on the faulty SCC boards and find that the databases fail. Restore the boards in the following steps:
? Delete the databases from the active and standby SCC boards by using the following commands:
? Reset the active and standby SCC boards. The boards are restored successfully.
4. Install the restored SCC boards on the NE and then add the NE. The NE is added successfully. 

Root Cause

1. The communication between the SCC and the other boards fails.
2. The backplane fails.
3. A database on the SCC fails. (The R&D analysis on the databases on the SCC indicates that the databases on the SCC fail. A possible cause is that the SCC is removed or powered off during the database synchronization between the active and standby SCC boards). 


To solve the problem, delete the databases from the SCC and then reset the SCC.
