FAQ-How to Configure Traffic Policies on the Ports of the NE80ENE40E Routers of the V3R3 Version

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  60 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
How to configure traffic policies on the ports of the NE80E/NE40E routers of the V3R3 version?
Alarm Information
Handling Process
In the V3R3 version, two modes are available for the configured traffic polices to take effect:
1. Share mode (default)
2. Non-share mode
In the share mode, when a same traffic policy is configured for multiple ports, the traffic policy limits the total rate of these ports; in the non-share mode, the traffic policy limits the rate of each individual port.
For example, when a traffic policy of 10 Mbit/s is configured in the share mode for multiple ports, these port share a 10-Mbit/s bandwidth; if the traffic policy is not configured in the share mode, each of these ports have a 10-Mbit/s bandwidth.
Root Cause
You can choose to configure traffic policies in the share or non-share mode as needed. In the share mode, to apply a same rate limit on different ports, you can configure different traffic policy names, and the same traffic classifier and traffic behavior. In non-share mode, to apply a same rate limit on different ports, you can configure a same traffic policy.
