Web Service Is Not Enabled In Pre-Configuration Because Ports 8009 and 8433 Are Not Enabled

Publication Date:  2019-07-05 Views:  118 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

If the pre-configuration function of the EPON NMS is adopted, when you click the button to import the form, a message is displayed indicating that the Web service is not enabled. Then, start TOMCAT manually; however, an error message is displayed indicating that TOMCAT cannot be started.

Alarm Information

Handling Process

Run the netstat-ano command to confirm that port 8080 used for communication between TOMCAT and the NMS is not occupied; however, TOMCAT cannot start. Then, enable all the ports of the device, and start TOMCAT. It is found that TOMCAT starts. In this case, perform a test and it is found that ports 8443 and 8009 are needed for TOMCAT. These two ports serve as the internal communication ports, which are defined in tomcat/conf/server.xml. Enable ports 8009 and 8443 and then TOMCAT starts. After that, enable the pre-configuration function and the error message indicating that the Web service is not enabled is not displayed.

Root Cause

If you pre-configure the EPON NMS, you need to use TOMCAT to provide the Web service first. If TOMCAT is not enabled, the pre-configuration function cannot be used. Therefore, the key point to rectify the fault is to start TOMCAT normally.
