User Connections Fail to Be Torn Down at the Specified Time on the ME60 Enabled with the Function of Forcing Users to Log Out

Publication Date:  2012-07-27 Views:  64 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

After forcing users to log out at a specified time is enabled on the ME60, the user domain can be locked but no online users are forced to log out.

Alarm Information

Handling Process
In the project, the customer often checks the function of forcing users to log out at the specified time. The configurations are as follows:
time-range a 13:05 to 13:10 daily
domain pppoe
authentication-scheme pppoe
accounting-scheme pppoe
time-range domain-block enable
time-range domain-block a
ip-pool pppoe
After the preceding configuration, from 13:05 to 13:10 and even later, user connections are not torn down (users get online after the time-range command is run; therefore, at that time, the time-range command already takes effect). After the time range is changed to 15 minutes, users can be forced to log out.
The reason is that there is a time difference on the device in certain situations, for example, a timer is set and started on the device.. On the ME60, the users are forced to go offline 6 or 7 minutes later than the specified time range. On the MA5200G, this command takes effect 5 to 6 minutes later than the specified time. Therefore, it is recommended to set the time range to more than 10 minutes for the test of the forcible logout function.

Root Cause
The configuration is correct, but the specified time range is too short. It is suspected that the configuration does not take effect.
