Q:This topic describes an example of resolving the problem wherein the MA5606 managed with the OAM protocol fails to turn green.
In a certain office, a large number of MDUs in the topology fail to turn green even after refresh operations.
The IP address and SNMP information is not configured on the OLT. According to the feedback from field engineers, the OLT-configuration-based installation mode is adopted for the construction in the office. The construction personnel configure the IP address and SNMP information on the MDU only. The configuration is not applied to the OLT.
In the case of the MA5606 managed with the OAM protocol, the N2000 BMS provides a workaround to the problem. Specifically, a user can configure the IP address and SNMP of the MDU on the N2000 BMS to resolve this problem.
The configuration is not applied to the OLT. The MA5606 of an earlier version does not support the online modification of the IP address and SNMP information and thus you need to modify the IP address and SNMP information on the N2000 BMS.
